Saturday's community garden meeting at American River Community Church covered Garden orientation, safety training, tools, tool care and maintenance, planting seeds, citrus varieties, espalier training, starting transplants, organic weed control, organic pest prevention and control, how to make inexpensive mocha expresso, a proposed memorial rose garden and lots more. And then I gave a hands-on pruning demonstration. All this in only 2 hours. Now that we have 4 roto-tillers, our February 20, 2010 planting day will be easier and go smoothly. See you there. We have about 8 garden sites left for those who still want to sign up. Today, Monday 2-8-10, Kyle Brittain worked with me for several hours in the gardens doing important, timely work. Thank you Kyle! Ken
